Kamut® Chili

The large kamut grain has a chew to it similar to ground beef

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Kamut grain, soaked overnight, drained
  • 3 cups water
  • 2 cups cooked Pinto Beans
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 teaspoons chili powder
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 cups tomato sauce
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 15 ounce can stewed tomatoes
  • 4 drops Tabasco sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin

Directions

Bring soaked Kamut and water to a boil in a large pot. Reduce heat to mediumlow and simmer, covered, until all water is absorbed, about 3040 minutes. Add remaining ingredients in with Kamut. Simmer for 1 1/2 2 hours.
