Uses
- It is used during labor in women who have HIV but have not been treated.
- It is used to treat hepatitis B infection.
- It is used to treat HIV infection.
- Lamivudine works to harm the virus and fight the infection.
Dosing
How to take
- To gain the most benefit, do not miss doses.
- Use as you have been told, even if you are feeling better.
- In HIV care, this drug is most often taken with 2 other drugs.
- Take with or without food. Take with food if it causes an upset stomach.
- There is a liquid (solution) if you cannot swallow pills.
- Those who have feeding tubes may also use the liquid. Flush the feeding tube before and after this drug is given.
