Uses
- It is used to treat bacterial infections.
- Amoxicillin works to harm the bacteria and fight the infection.
- Clavulanate protects amoxicillin from being wiped out by some types of bacteria.
Dosing
How to take
- To gain the most benefit, do not miss doses.
- Use as you have been told, even if you are feeling better.
- Take with or without food. Take with food if it causes an upset stomach.
- Chewable tablet: Chew or crush well. Mix crushed tablet with food. Do not swallow it whole.
- There is a liquid (suspension) if you cannot swallow pills. Shake well before use.
- Those who have feeding tubes may also use the liquid. Flush the feeding tube before and after this drug is given.
- Scored long-acting product: Do not chew or crush.
- Unscored long-acting product: Swallow whole. Do not chew, break, or crush.
