AntibioticsAntibiotics: Based on laboratory tests, various jackfruit plant parts, including the bark, wood, leaves, fruit, and seeds, may exhibit a broad spectrum of antibacterial activity (1). Anticoagulants and antiplateletsAnticoagulants and antiplatelets: Based on in vitro studies and a preliminary study in Rhesus monkeys and humans, jackfruit seeds may have coagulant activity (4; 2). Antidiabetic agentsAntidiabetic agents: Based on a clinical study, jackfruit leaves may improve glucose tolerance in normal and type 2 diabetes patients (9). AntifungalsAntifungals: Based on an in vitro study, jackfruit may inhibit the growth of Fusarium moniliforme and Saccharomyces cerevisiae (2).
