Arum/Drug Interactions:

  • AntibioticsAntibiotics: Arum maculatum may decrease the ability of a certain strain of Chlamydia pneumonia (strain AR-39) to replicate in the laboratory (2). The effects of Arum and antibiotics are not well understood.

  • Iron saltsIron salts: Secondary sources have suggested that ingested calcium oxalate, a constituent of Arum, may interfere with mineral absorption if taken concomitantly.
  • Arum/Herb/Supplement Interactions:

  • AntibacterialsAntibacterials: Arum maculatum may decrease the ability of a certain strain of Chlamydia pneumonia (strain AR-39) to replicate in laboratory animals (2). The effects of Arum and antibacterials are not well understood.
