Dolomite

Dolomite/Drug Interactions:

  • Antiviral agentsAntiviral agents: Dolomite demonstrated strong antiviral activity in vitro against avian and human influenza, avian infectious bronchitis (corona virus), Newcastle disease (paramyxo virus), and avian laryngotracheitis (herpes virus) viruses. Dolomite may be effective at inhibiting emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases (6). The effects of dolomite with antiviral agents are not well understood.
  • Calcium saltsCalcium salts: According to secondary sources, concomitant use of dolomite with calcium-containing products may increase levels of calcium.
  • Hormonal agentsHormonal agents: Parathyroid hormone secretion decreased and calcitonin secretion increased in ovariectomized (OVX) rats supplemented with dolomite (16). The effects of dolomite with hormonal agents are not well understood.
