Guayule/Drug Interactions:

  • Cytochrome P450 metabolized agentsCytochrome P450 metabolized agents: Based on laboratory studies, guayule may have cytochrome P450 properties (3).
  • Cytotoxic agentsCytotoxic agents: In laboratory studies, argentatin A and argentatin B isolated from guayule showed cytotoxic effects on human cancer cell lines, but are probably not able to cause injury on DNA by clastogenic or aneugenic mechanisms (4).
