Maitake/Nutrient Depletion:

  • GlucoseGlucose: In limited available human research, maitake mushroom reduced blood glucose in patients with type 2 diabetes (18). Animal research has also suggested hypoglycemic properties of oral maitake (13; 17; 14; 15; 16; 28).
  • LipidsLipids: In an animal model, maitake (Grifola frondosa) reduced plasma levels of triglyceride (14; 28) and total cholesterol (7). In an animal model, fiber from Grifola frondosa resulted in a reduction in cholesterol (5).
