Uses
- It is used to treat cancer patients who have had bone marrow problems caused by chemo.
- It is used to raise the number of stem cells.
- It is used to treat low white blood cell counts.
- It is used to treat myelodysplasia.
- Filgrastim helps make white blood cells in the bone marrow.
Dosing
How to take
- It is given as a shot into the fatty part of the skin.
- It is given as a shot into a vein.
- Your doctor may teach you how to give the shot.
- Take this drug at the same time of day.
- Before giving the shot, bring it to room temperature.
- Wash your hands before and after use.
- Throw syringe away after use. Do not use more than one time.
- Throw away needles in a needle/sharp disposal box and take the box back to your doctor when it is full.
