Uses
- It is used to stop or treat eye infections.
- Gentamicin works to harm the bacteria and fight the infection.
Dosing
How to take
- Eye drops:
- Use as you have been told, even if you are feeling better.
- For the eye only.
- Do not wear contact lenses at any time while using this drug.
- Do not touch the container tip to the eye, lid, or other skin.
- Tilt your head back and drop drug into the eye.
- After use, keep your eyes closed. Put pressure on the inside corner of the eye. Do this for 1 to 2 minutes. This keeps the drug in your eye.
- Space each eye drug by 5 minutes.
- Eye ointment:
- Use as you have been told, even if you are feeling better.
- For the eye only.
- Do not wear contact lenses at any time while using this drug.
- Do not touch the container tip to the eye, lid, or other skin.
- Place drug inside the lower lid. Close the eye for 1 to 2 minutes. Roll eyeball around.
- Space each eye drug by 10 minutes.
