Uses
- It is used to stop or treat bacterial infections.
- Azithromycin works to harm the bacteria and fight the infection.
Dosing
How to take
- To gain the most benefit, do not miss doses.
- Use as you have been told, even if you are feeling better.
- Zithromax?:
- Take with or without food. Take with food if it causes an upset stomach.
- There is a liquid (suspension) if you cannot swallow pills. Shake well before use.
- Empty single dose liquid (suspension) packet in 1/4 cup of water. Mix well and drink. Rinse cup with more water and drink.
- Those who have feeding tubes may also use the liquid. Flush the feeding tube before and after this drug is given.
- Zmax?:
- Take liquid (suspension) on an empty stomach. Take 1 hour before or 2 hours after meals.
- Shot:
- It is given as a shot into a vein.
