Uses
- It is used to stop or treat low potassium levels.
- Potassium keeps good organ function.
Dosing
How to take
- Oral:
- Take this drug with food.
- Drink lots of noncaffeine liquids unless told to drink less liquid by your doctor.
- Mix liquid or powder with 1/2 cup of water.
- Klor-Con? M: Tablet may be broken in half or the whole tablet may be mixed with a 1/2 cup of water. Drink it right away.
- Long-acting products: Swallow whole. Do not chew, break, or crush.
- There is a liquid (solution) if you cannot swallow pills.
- Those who have feeding tubes may also use the liquid. Flush the feeding tube before and after this drug is given. You may have to stop the tube feeding first. Some potassium products do not mix well with tube feeding.
- Shot:
- It is given as a shot into a vein over a period of time.
