Uses
- It is used to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease.
- It is used to stop or treat ulcers of the swallowing tube (esophagus).
- It is used to treat syndromes caused by lots of stomach acid.
- Pantoprazole helps avoid harm to the GI (gastrointestinal) tract caused by stomach acid or infection.
Dosing
How to take
- Take this drug at the same time of day.
- Take 30 minutes before the first meal of the day.
- Tablet:
- Swallow tablet whole. Do not chew, break, or crush.
- Granules:
- Mix granules with 1 teaspoon of applesauce or 1 teaspoon (5 mL) of apple juice and drink it right away.
- Shot:
- It is given as a shot into a vein.
