Uses
- It is used to lower blood sugar in patients with high blood sugar (diabetes).
- Insulin is a hormone needed for the body's use of food. Type 1 diabetics have no insulin of their own. Type 2 diabetics still make insulin, but may need more.
Dosing
How to take
- Use as you have been told, even if you are feeling better.
- Do not use out dated insulin.
- Do not mix this insulin in the same syringe with other types of insulin.
- It is given as a shot into the fatty part of the skin.
- Spread the shots out from each other. You may give in the same body part, for example the belly, but do not give next to each other.
- Throw away needles in a needle/sharp disposal box and take the box back to your doctor when it is full.
- Follow the diet and workout plan that your doctor told you about.
