Uses
- It is used to stop or control seizures.
- It is used to treat manic low mood (depression).
- Levetiracetam calms the brain.
Dosing
How to take
- Oral:
- Take as you have been told, even if you are feeling better.
- Take with or without food. Take with food if it causes an upset stomach.
- Swallow tablet whole. Do not chew, break, or crush.
- There is a liquid (solution) if you cannot swallow pills.
- Those who have feeding tubes may also use the liquid. Flush the feeding tube before and after this drug is given.
- Shot:
- It is given as a shot into a vein.
