Uses
- It is used to avoid or treat skin infections.
- It is used to stop or treat eye infections.
- Bacitracin works to harm the bacteria and fight the infection.
Dosing
How to take
- All products:
- To gain the most benefit, do not miss doses.
- Use as you have been told, even if you are feeling better.
- Wash your hands before and after use.
- Eye ointment:
- For the eye only.
- Take out contact lenses before using this drug. Lenses may be put back in 15 minutes after this drug is given. Do not put contacts back in if your eyes are irritated or infected.
- Do not touch the container tip to the eye, lid, or other skin.
- Tilt your head back and to the side of affected eye.
- Gently pull down the lower lid and squeeze in how much the doctor told you to use.
- Release the lower eyelid and keep eyes closed for 1 to 2 minutes.
- Space each eye drug by 10 minutes.
- Skin:
- Do not take this drug by mouth. Use on your skin only. Keep out of your mouth, nose, and eyes (may burn).
- Clean affected part before use. Make sure to dry well.
- Put a thin layer on the affected part and rub in gently.
- It may be covered with a bandage or dressing.
