Uses

It is used to ease pain and fever.
Acetaminophen blocks chemicals that cause pain.
It lowers fever by changing the body's thermostat in the brain.

Dosing

How to take
Oral:
Do not take more than what your doctor told you to take. Liver problems may happen.
Take with or without food. Take with food if it causes an upset stomach.
Eat often to lower the chance of liver problems.
Long-acting products: Swallow whole. Do not chew, break, or crush.
You may sprinkle contents of capsule on soft food or liquid. Do not chew.
There is a liquid (elixir, suspension, solution, syrup) if you cannot swallow pills. Shake suspension well before use.
Those who have feeding tubes may also use the liquid. Flush the feeding tube before and after this drug is given.
Suppository:
Use suppository rectally.
Shot:
It is given as a shot into a vein.
