Uses

It is used to treat some poisonings.
In surgery, it is used to lower secretions such as saliva.
It is used to treat a slow heartbeat.
Eye:
It is used to treat eye irritation.
Atropine helps treat some of the harmful effects caused by some poisonings.
It lowers secretions.
It fires up the heart.
Eye:
It makes the eye pupils larger.

Dosing

How to take
Solution:
For the eye only.
Take out contact lenses before using this drug. Lenses may be put back in 15 minutes after this drug is given. Do not put contacts back in if your eyes are irritated or infected.
Do not touch the container tip to the eye, lid, or other skin.
Tilt your head back and drop drug into the eye.
After use, keep your eyes closed. Put pressure on the inside corner of the eye. Do this for 1 to 2 minutes. This keeps the drug in your eye.
Space each eye drug by 5 minutes.
Ointment:
For the eye only.
Take out contact lenses before using this drug. Lenses may be put back in 15 minutes after this drug is given. Do not put contacts back in if your eyes are irritated or infected.
Do not touch the container tip to the eye, lid, or other skin.
Place drug inside the lower lid. Close the eye for 1 to 2 minutes. Roll eyeball around.
Space each eye drug by 10 minutes.
Shot:
It is given as a shot into a muscle or vein.
