Uses
- It is used to treat drug addiction and withdrawal.
- Buprenorphine binds to parts of the brain to lower the need for pain drugs and help with withdrawal signs.
- Naloxone stops abuse of this drug.
Dosing
How to take
- Under the tongue (sublingual) film:
- Open right before use.
- Wet mouth with water.
- Place film under your tongue.
- If using 2 films, place on opposite sides. Try not to let films touch.
- If using 3 films, place the third film under the tongue after the first 2 films have melted.
- Do not chew or swallow.
- Under the tongue (sublingual) tablet:
- Place on the tongue and let melt.
