Uses
- It is used to treat migraine headaches.
- Zolmitriptan lowers swelling of blood vessels in the brain that cause the migraine.
Dosing
How to take
- If your headache comes back after the first dose, 1 more dose may be taken 2 hours after the first one.
- Keep a diary of your headaches.
- Tablet:
- You may break the tablet in half. Do not chew or crush.
- Take with liquids as early as you can after the attack has started.
- Oral-disintegrating tablet:
- Place on your tongue and let it melt. Water is not needed. Do not swallow it whole. Do not chew, break, or crush it.
- Nose spray:
- For the nose only.
- Blow your nose before use.
- Spray a single dose in 1 nostril as early as you can after the attack has started.
